Communication Net Back Back Next

Presently, the Bulape Hospital has one computer.  Equipped with email, it is a major communication to outside sources.   However, since the hospital's electric generator only runs several hours per day, its effectiveness is limited. Internet service is too expensive at this time. By providing reliable computer technology and internet access to the hospital, it can receive updated information, treatments, and research to better serve its patients.

The Bulape Hospital is also responsible for providing services to a large geographic area sprinkled with 26 medical clinics yet there is very little transportation available. Sick patients in outlying isolated areas would benefit if clinics could communicate directly with a hospital to get care instructions or to request transportation to the hospital. Presently there is no telephone service so someone on foot, or if the patient is lucky, someone on a bicycle is sent to communicate the message.
